We recognise that being a trust board chair can sometimes be a difficult and lonely role, particularly in challenging circumstances. We have developed this mentoring service to provide the confidential and impartial support and expert guidance needed during these times.
Our team of mentors have a breadth of experience in navigating issues such as:
- trust growth and mergers
- succession planning
- change management
- trustee conduct and disciplinary matters
- managing a whistleblowing process
- responding to a notice to improve
- mending difficult relationships and building trust
The mentoring focus will be unique to each chair; mentoring meetings will provide an opportunity to reflect in a safe space, to assess risks, sound out ideas and develop strategies to move forwards.
How it works
This support is initially offered across three days, or 21 hours of elapsed time. There will be an opportunity to extend this beyond the initial period should the need arise.
The relationship starts with the mentor undertaking some background reading to familiarise themselves with the trust board context and reflection and planning meeting, ideally in person, to understand the issue to be dealt with. This is the foundation for the focused and well-informed conversations that follow. The remainder of the time is allocated according to the needs and preferences of the mentee.
Fees
Our fee for this service is £2,145+VAT for CST members and £2,640+VAT for non-members, plus travel expenses.
