This suite of exclusion letter templates is intended to help governance professionals and school leaders manage the processes around fixed term and permanent exclusions. The templates do not cover every scenario and should be customised to include your trust and school branding and contact information.
These were initially produced in September 2023 and have been checked against the Department for Education's September 2024 school suspensions and permanent exclusions guidance.
The letters should only be used alongside an existing understanding of current guidance. Trusts are responsible for ensuring their approach complies with the statutory requirements.
