Who we are

Teaching Vacancies is a free, national search and listing service to help state funded primary and secondary schools in England recruit leaders, teachers and support staff. We’re trying to help schools solve the problem of high teacher recruitment costs – estimated at £75 million a year.

What we do

Teaching Vacancies is a very straightforward service to use:

• Hiring staff at schools, trusts or local authorities list a leadership, teaching or support staff role.
• Jobseekers search and find their ideal role.
• Jobseekers apply using our DfE approved application form or the school’s, trust’s, or local authority’s own application form.
• Hiring staff process applications and manage other aspects of the recruitment process.

We have an Application Tracking System which allows hiring staff to efficiently manage their recruitment process.

How we help

So far this academic year we have saved schools millions of pounds on teacher recruitment – meaning that money can be spent on what is important: education.

Since its launch in April 2019, Teaching Vacancies has become a credible and trusted listing service.

• Over 80% of schools signed up to use the service
• Teaching Vacancies is also the largest source of jobs listed directly by primary schools in England
• For secondary schools we are the second largest source of jobs listed directly by secondary schools in England
• Over 40,000 jobseekers have now signed up for job alerts.
