Lyfta

Who we are

We share powerful real human stories from around the world to better understand ourselves, each other and our future – as individuals, as communities and as an entire planet.

We create high quality, relevant teaching resources that facilitate learning through reflection, discussion and creation.

We support teachers to connect their curriculums to the real world, highlighting sustainable development, inspiring social change and nurturing wellbeing.

We want every child to experience and connect with a meaningful human story from every country in the world by the time they leave school - increasing their awareness, empathy and understanding of different people, cultures, languages, roles and perspectives.

What we do

Lyfta is an innovative teaching and learning platform containing high-quality content and resources which offers students the opportunity to experience a range of different people, places and perspectives from around the world. It provides a window into the lives of others and an accessible way to experience human diversity in an engaging, meaningful and inspiring way.

Expanding young people’s horizons and giving them access to a world beyond their immediate environment is more important than ever. At Lyfta, we want to help schools and trusts foster empathy and compassion in students so they better understand difference and interconnectedness at a local and global level. Our interactive resources and powerful short films facilitate human encounters for all students which might not otherwise be possible.

We offer access to a constantly growing bank of high-quality resources made up of interactive 360° spaces and soundscapes along with short documentary films and rich media content. In each of these interactive storyworld spaces students can ‘meet’ someone new and explore different aspects of their lives.

300+ integrated lesson and assembly plans explore a huge range of themes from wellbeing, compassion and human diversity, to science, gender equality and differing worldviews. All resources and lessons are linked to, and searchable by, the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals, as well as by core theme and key stage.

Our work is linked to some key areas of learning and enrichment, underpinned by the aim to create real world learning encounters which support human flourishing (academic, social and emotional) towards a more socially just and sustainable planet. These key focus areas are:

  • Cultural capital
  • Diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Global citizenship and sustainability
  • Character Education
  • Social and emotional learning

Lyfta offers a range of high quality CPD opportunities to support trusts and schools using the platform. These cover a range of themes, from pedagogy for global learning, curriculum innovation and having courageous conversations around race, to the use of human stories to teach values through sport.

We offer free trial access and training to schools and trusts who would like to explore the resources further. Please book a call with a member of the team to see how Lyfta can create impact in your trust.
