About Nicola Andrews
Nicola has over 15 years’ experience working on commercial projects in the Education Sector. She is a specialist on the legal and regulatory issues relating to academy conversions and transfers. Nicola has worked very closely with the DfE on its model documentation and supports a range of our clients with their commercial work. In addition, she advises maintained schools and academy trusts on a wide variety of funding, commercial and asset transfer issues. Nicola regularly works with trusts on governance, including advice on academy trust company secretary issues.
Nicola has advised on the establishment and restructuring of single and multi-academy trusts as well as the transfer of academies between academy trusts. She has acted on the establishment of mainstream, special and alternative provision academies (both sponsored and converters). Nicola also advises schools on PFI projects including complex PFI academy conversion and transfers. Nicola has also advised a number of schools on governing body agreements under the Priority School Building Programme (PSBP).
Nicola has been working on establishing the first secure school in the UK, working closely with the Ministry of Justice on the project
