Safeguarding professional community
Working together to keep pupils safe.
Safeguarding is a key statutory responsibility for school trusts, but it is more than that: it is a moral imperative.
It is also an increasingly complex area, that needs agility and innovation to protect children in a rapidly changing social landscape.
Our community explores emergent thinking on the statutory role of education in safeguarding, including how trusts can use their structures to create a contemporary approach to safeguarding.
We also focus on the wellbeing of safeguarding teams themselves, as professionals often confronted with emotionally-charged and distressing situations.
We aim to provide support and development opportunities, through a blend of expert input on key practice challenges, facilitated discussion, and networking.
The community offers a safe and supportive environment in which to develop your understanding of some of the key challenges related to safeguarding at scale, through:
- Termly online community meetings featuring expert voices
- Topical webinars on emerging issues
- Our community site, which connects you with trust leaders across the country through a dedicated website and mobile apps
- Community resources and blogs from our members and partners
- Priority access to our annual in-person CST Safeguarding Conference
Our professional communities are an integral part of CST membership, and taking part is open to all staff and governance volunteers of member trusts.
