The role of trust members

Mastering your purpose, powers and responsibilities

This course introduces you to the guidance and compliance aspects of the member role, with a strong focus on practical application which is impactful and rewarding. Members play a crucial but often overlooked role in ensuring effective governance – however it is essential that you understand the remit and boundaries of your responsibilities. We’ll examine how members can be instrumental in building a highly skilled, professional trust board; which information they should receive and; how they can communicate effectively whilst maintaining separation across the governance layers.

Who is it for?

This course is for people in the following roles in trusts of all sizes:

  • All trust members; from newly appointed to highly experienced and all in-between
  • Governance professionals
  • Trustees, particularly chairs, who need to understand their reporting duties to members
What you will gain

This seminar brings the role of the member to life. We hear from an inspirational member who delivers his role in an impactful, supportive way that strengthens his trust from the top down.
