Sam transitioned from a career as a history teacher to a role as
an assistant headteacher at Southam College, where she dedicated 13 years to
safeguarding, attendance, and SEND. In 2019, Sam assumed a strategic role
within the trust executive team, directing SEND and attendance initiatives
across secondary schools, and quickly moved on to lead the trust’s safeguarding
strategy, which she has now been doing for the last five years. Sam’s expertise
and passion within safeguarding encompasses social, emotional, and mental
health support, suicide awareness and prevention, allegation management, and
safer recruitment practices. Sam became a governor for an independent primary
school in June 2024 and took on the role as safeguarding trustee for Brooke
Weston Trust in September 2024.
