Richard is a Certified Fellow of the Institute of Risk Management (IRM), having studied, taught and worked within the risk field for almost 21 years. He was former Chair of the IRM Scottish Regional Group and now sits on the International Regions and Special Interests Board subcommittee in London. Richard is also a Trustee and a member of the Finance, Audit & Risk Committee of LifeCare Edinburgh, a care and dementia charity. Before first joining RSM in 2013, his previous risk management experience covered varied sectors and services including Asset Finance, Education, Fire & Rescue Service, Local Government in New Zealand and Healthcare. A "Not for profit” award winning author covering subjects such as assurance mapping, risk management culture, emerging risk and combining the traditional risk management approaches. Richard has become globally known for his innovative, user friendly approaches and applications to risk management.
