Partnership champions evidence-based school improvement

Understanding what works in school trusts and sharing best practice is at the heart of a new partnership between the Confederation of School Trusts and ImpactEd Group.

Understanding what works in school trusts and sharing best practice is at the heart of a new partnership between the Confederation of School Trusts and ImpactEd Group, the UK’s first employee-owned evaluation, research and strategy consultancy.

CST and ImpactEd have previously worked together on the School Improvement Hub, a project which gathers and shares school-improvement best practices used by trusts and are both partners in Inclusion in Practice, which shares quality SEND practice.

Now, ImpactEd Group is joining CST's platinum partner scheme, which brings together leading education-focused organisations and CST’s members, together responsible for the education of more than four million young people.

The partnership will further help raise awareness of evidence-based approaches to improving education, and elevate research, insights and opportunities for participation in ImpactEd’s research, evaluation and consulting projects.

CST Chief Executive Leora Cruddas CBE said: "Our school system has been on a journey over the last two decades, with a positive shift towards evidence-based approaches that provide a firm foundation for trusts and schools to apply to their local circumstances.

“In the last few years ImpactEd has established a strong reputation in helping leaders across education understand and share what works, and we are pleased to be expanding our partnership with them.”

ImpactEd co-founder and Group Director Elin de Zoete said: “We share CST’s mission to support excellence and sustainability in the school system. Working together, we already champion evidence-informed practice through a number of projects, and we hope that as partners, that collaboration will deepen.

“We want all schools to have actionable insights at their fingertips, to support decision making and ultimately drive better outcomes for pupils .”
