Governance and trustees professional community
Why governance matters, what it entails, how we do it, and how we measure our impact.
This professional community is squarely focused on trust governance – why it matters, what it entails, how we do it, and how we measure our impact.
Our founding principle is that trust governance is unique and that we will not carry on doing what’s always been done.
We aim to be a knowledge-building community that raises the standard of governance in trusts while always thinking about how we can do it better, staying true to the principles in the Academy Trust Governance Code.
Our community recognises the breadth of governance approaches across school trusts, reflecting the potential impacts of the number of schools, range of settings, and geographies.
We aim to provide support and development opportunities, through a blend of expert input on key practice challenges, facilitated discussion, and networking.
The community offers a safe and supportive environment in which to develop your understanding of some of the key challenges in trust governance today, through:
- Termly online community meetings featuring expert voices
- Topical webinars on emerging issues
- Our community site, which connects you with trust leaders across the country through a dedicated website and mobile apps
- Community resources and blogs from our members and partners
- Priority access to our annual in-person CST Governance and Trustees Conference
Our professional communities are an integral part of CST membership, and taking part is open to all staff and governance volunteers of member trusts.
