Steve Rollett: "Today is about the determination, dedication and brilliance of these young people"

As students across the country receive results, Steve Rollett (Deputy Chief Executive, CST) said:

"Today we congratulate all young people receiving VTQ, A level, T Level and AS level results. The accomplishments of this cohort of young people are remarkable and achieved despite the impact the COVID-19 pandemic had on key phases of their education.

"It is important to recognise that context, but let’s be clear – today’s story is not about the pandemic: it is about the determination, dedication and brilliance of these young people. In a year that saw a return to a ‘pre-pandemic’ national grade profile, it is important to remember that as in any year, achieving VTQ and A Level qualifications is a milestone moment for young people, and one they should feel proud of.

"Let us ensure young people – and their teachers – are in no doubt that today belongs to them. We wish everybody receiving results the very best of luck in the next steps of their journeys."
