Deepening partnership offers new help for school trusts to tackle financial uncertainties

School trust leaders will be able to get more help with understanding their financial futures thanks to a deepening partnership between the Confederation of School Trusts and IMP Software, a dedicated developer of finance systems for the sector.

Financial sustainability is a top priority for school trusts, with rising costs and constrained funding from Government making it ever-more important that trusts are on top of their finances.

CST and IMP have previously worked together through sponsorship of CST’s Annual Conference and last year’s inaugural Finance Sector Insight Report.

The deepening relationship sees the firm joining the Confederation's platinum partner scheme, which brings together leading education-focused organisations and CST’s members, together responsible for the education of nearly four million young people.

Alongside continued sponsorship of CST’s Annual Conference, including a workshop strand dedicated to trust finance, and the second edition of the Finance Sector Insight Report, it marks a renewed joint dedication to supporting trusts to make their money go as far as possible.

CST Chief Executive Leora Cruddas CBE said: "School trusts exist to educate children, but to do that to our best we need strong finance, governance, and all the other aspects that make for a mature organisation.

“Secure and smart financial management is essential for trusts to be able to plan for the long-term and take the steps that help our children today and into the future.”

IMP Software Co-Founder Will Jordan said: “We’re proud to once again support the CST Annual Conference in 2025 as a Platinum Partner. The event is a key opportunity to connect with trust leaders, understand the challenges they face in managing trust-level budgeting processes, and explore how IMP can help provide clarity, insight, and confidence in decision-making.

“We’re also excited to share a preview of our upcoming Sector Insight Report at the event”

IMP Software supports smarter school trust finance with tools to streamline and simplify budgeting, forecasting, reporting, purchasing, finance and integrated curriculum and financial planning.

Founded by a team of experts who worked in school trust finance themselves, their solutions are developed in partnership with trusts and designed to remove silos, spreadsheets, and fragmented systems. With IMP, trust leaders gain one clear and reliable view, make more informed decisions, and win back time to focus on strategy and analysis.

Trusted by over 550 trusts and 6,000 schools IMP’s finance system is built specifically for the unique needs of multi-academy trusts.
