CST comment on this year's extraordinary exam efforts

Let’s celebrate the extraordinary efforts made by young people, teachers and leaders this year.

Leora Cruddas, chief executive of CST said:

"For A level results today and GCSEs on Thursday, we must congratulate young people on their extraordinary efforts. They have made so many sacrifices and yet faced the challenges with strength and determination. Whatever the next stage in your journey, we are incredibly proud of you.

"The important thing is that we, the adults, stand together and celebrate young people’s achievements. This is their moment. Criticising what has been a rigorous process serves only to devalue these achievements.

"We should also recognise the herculean efforts of teachers and leaders in following this process to arrive at this year’s grades. I would like to thank teachers and leaders for their professionalism, integrity and hard work.

"The task now is to ensure that young people go on to the destinations that are right for them, be that university, college, apprenticeship or employment.”
