Education Mutual provides a new, innovative way for Trusts to manage staff absence. The only DFE recommended staff absence protection provider, it is run for the sole benefit of its members, not for shareholders, and reinvests surplus funds in the education sector. This amounts to £500,000 to-date since Education Mutual was founded in 2018.
The Education Mutual Board is made up of trust business leaders and headteachers who want the best for their budgets together with the flexibility of a commercial provider. To complement its offer, Education Mutual also provides health and wellbeing support to help trust staff to maintain good health and prevent absences. These include counselling and physiotherapy, 24/7 GP access and occupational health services.
Leora Cruddas, Chief Executive of CST said, "Education Mutual are an important addition to our family of Platinum Partners. At a time when the health and wellbeing of teachers and school leaders is rightfully high on trust’s agendas, we the value the specialist services that they provide and welcome their ethos of keeping public money in education for the benefit of pupils.”
Nick Hurn OBE, Education Mutual Chairman and CEO of Bishop Wilkinson Catholic Education Trust said, ‘As an organisation that has grown from the trust sector, for the benefit of all our school and trust members, we are delighted to partner with CST. We look forward to supporting more CST members to manage the challenges ahead with the reassurance that they can really rely upon our staff absence protection services when they need them.”
