Data and digital transformation professional community
Data, digital, AI and more: explorng the insights that help trusts keep improving.
CST’s Data and digital transformation professional community is for anyone with a role or interest in digital transformation, data, and innovation. This includes those leading on digital strategy, organisational change, IT, data management, and the intelligent use of emerging technologies in education.
School trusts are navigating a moment of rapid change. Digital capability is no longer an isolated discipline – it is the fabric that connects how we manage information, drive improvement, and shape the experiences of children and those who work with them. Data remains an essential raw ingredient, but it increasingly sits alongside new challenges and opportunities: AI applications, platform interoperability, ethical governance, and ensuring technology serves educational purposes rather than commercial agendas.
This community exists to help trust leaders meet that challenge. It brings together diverse expertise to:
- Shape and reflect the sector’s voice on digital transformation, grounded in what children and schools need now and in the future
- Share insight and strategy on how data, digital, and innovation intersect in improving educational outcomes
- Support members to anticipate market trends, make informed strategic decisions, and navigate ‘tech-first’ solutions that may not meet the real needs of trusts, schools and children
- Safeguard the moral and ethical dimension of digital change, ensuring technology strengthens — not undermines — our educational mission
The community offers a safe and supportive environment in which to develop your understanding of some of these crucial topics through:
- Termly online community meetings featuring expert voices
- Topical webinars on emerging issues
- Our community site, which connects you with trust leaders across the country through a dedicated website and mobile apps
- Community resources and blogs from our members and partners
- Priority access to our annual in-person CST Data and Digital Transformation Conference
Our professional communities are an integral part of CST membership, and taking part is open to all staff and governance volunteers of member trusts.
