SEND: Training and inclusion bases

This SEND and Inclusion professional community pop-up webinar series supports trusts with the practical implementation of the Schools White Paper and SEND reforms.

Across three sessions, we will consider both the intended direction of reform and the realities of delivery. With expert speakers, the series will create a space to discuss areas where detail is still emerging, so members can share experience, identify implications for their own settings, and reflect on key questions.

This session will focus on the Government’s plans to fund £200 million of training over three years. We will discuss what expertise might be required, what schools and trusts can do to make training an embedded and continuous process, as well as considering how the expertise of specialist schools and alternative provisions can be harnessed to support mainstream colleagues.

This session will also look at inclusion bases, considering how trust leaders can innovate and collaborate with local partners to ensure children and young people are actively included in their setting, whilst accessing a broad and balanced curriculum tailored from their individual starting points.
