Governance and trustee community meeting

Our termly professional community meetings, held online, bring together colleagues from across the country to discuss the vital issues for their role.

They feature guest experts and lively discussions, focusing on topical or strategic issues for school trusts.

A trust’s estate is its largest and most complex asset, shaping educational delivery, safeguarding, workforce wellbeing, finance, growth, and community relationships. In this session, we will be joined by our expert colleagues at Barker to explore what long-term stewardship of estates looks like in governance terms, particularly following the DfE’s published estates strategy and upcoming expectations around accountability. We will examine how boards can use clear, data‑driven information to support transparent, defensible decision‑making; anchor estates activity in trust strategy; steward consistent design standards; secure value for money; and work productively with local communities.
