Axle Education Ltd

Axle Education is a UK education technology company specialising in curriculum, assessment and reporting.

Our platform, Dynamic Progress Reporting (DPR), was developed by practising school leaders to address a common challenge across schools and trusts: making curriculum intent, implementation and impact more transparent, measurable and meaningful.

Developed in partnership with Forest Gate Community School within The Community Schools Trust, DPR has evolved into an award-winning platform used by schools across the UK to support curriculum delivery, assessment for learning, homework, reporting and parental engagement.

What differentiates Axle Education is our curriculum-first approach. Rather than forcing schools into fixed assessment models focused primarily on summative outcomes, DPR enables trusts and schools to build customisable learning pathways, key learning objectives, reporting structures and judgement frameworks aligned to their own educational vision.

The platform is specifically designed to strengthen formative assessment by making learning expectations, feedback and progress visible throughout the learning journey, not just at reporting points. This helps teachers respond more effectively to student needs while encouraging students to engage more actively with their own progress and development.

We believe effective assessment should support learning rather than create unnecessary workload. DPR is designed to improve visibility of student progress while reducing duplication, improving consistency and strengthening communication between teachers, students, parents and leaders.

We continue to work closely with trust leaders and educators to ensure the platform evolves alongside changing curriculum, assessment and school improvement priorities across the sector.

Axle Education provides schools and trusts with a platform for curriculum planning, formative assessment, reporting, homework and parental engagement.

Using Dynamic Progress Reporting (DPR), schools can design and manage curriculum pathways around clearly defined key learning objectives, helping ensure curriculum sequencing, progression and assessment are aligned across subjects and year groups.

Teachers can assess learning against bespoke objectives using custom judgement frameworks tailored to the trust’s approach. Students can actively engage with their learning by reviewing curriculum expectations, monitoring progress, responding to feedback and collaborating with teachers through the platform.

DPR is designed to embed curriculum visibility into everyday classroom practice, helping students understand how lessons, activities and homework connect to wider curriculum goals and long-term learning journeys.

Real-time analytics and reporting tools allow leaders to monitor progress, engagement and curriculum implementation across classes, departments and schools. Homework is directly linked to curriculum objectives, helping reinforce learning and improve curriculum continuity.

The platform also strengthens parental engagement through DPR for Parents, giving families live access to progress, homework and reporting information.

This enables trusts to maintain greater consistency, transparency and curriculum coherence across their schools while still supporting local flexibility.

Axle Education helps trusts create more transparent, consistent and effective approaches to curriculum delivery and assessment.

We support schools in moving beyond traditional summative reporting models towards approaches that place curriculum, formative assessment and student learning at the centre of teaching and leadership decisions.

By making curriculum expectations visible to teachers, students and parents, DPR improves engagement, accountability and self-regulated learning. Students are encouraged to actively participate in learning through ongoing dialogue, feedback and reflection linked directly to curriculum objectives.

This supports a more continuous and responsive assessment culture where teachers can adapt teaching based on evidence of learning throughout the curriculum journey rather than relying solely on end-point assessment data.

For trust leaders, DPR provides clearer oversight of curriculum implementation and student progress across schools. Leaders can monitor consistency, identify strengths and gaps, and provide targeted support where needed.

Our approach also helps reduce workload by bringing assessment, homework, reporting and communication into a single platform designed around classroom practice.

Through DPR for Parents, families gain live access to progress, homework and curriculum information, helping strengthen partnerships between home and school.

Everything we build is grounded in classroom practice and shaped through ongoing collaboration with the schools and trusts we work alongside.
