Chalkie AI

Chalkie is an AI-powered lesson planning and resource creation platform, built by a small, product-led team who work directly with teachers every day. We support over a million teachers across 100+ countries, helping them plan, differentiate, and resource lessons in a fraction of the time it would normally take.

What sets us apart is how we've built Chalkie around real classroom needs rather than generic AI outputs. Every lesson generated is curriculum-aligned, adaptable for differentiation, and includes SEND support as standard, not as an add-on. Teachers remain fully in control of their content at every stage, from initial generation through to editing and final delivery, so what goes in front of pupils always reflects a teacher's professional judgement.
For school trusts, this means consistency at scale. Rather than each teacher building resources from scratch or relying on inconsistent sources, Chalkie gives every classroom access to the same quality bar, saving planning time without adding oversight burden for senior leaders.

We work closely with our user base to shape the product roadmap, meaning features are driven by what teachers and school leaders actually ask for, not assumptions about what they need. This close relationship with schools, combined with a strong focus on curriculum accuracy and safeguarding considerations like SEND provision, is what differentiates us from broader, generic AI tools being adapted for education after the fact.

Chalkie helps school trusts reduce the time teachers spend on planning and resourcing, without reducing the quality or personalisation of what ends up in the classroom.
Teachers use Chalkie to generate full lesson plans, slides, worksheets, and supporting resources in minutes rather than hours. Every output is curriculum-aligned to the relevant framework, and can be automatically adapted for differentiation and SEND needs, meaning less duplicated effort across a trust's classrooms and more consistency in the quality of resources pupils receive, regardless of which teacher or school they're in.
For trusts specifically, this translates into several concrete benefits:

Time saved at scale. Multiply the hours saved per teacher across an entire trust, and the impact on staff workload and retention becomes significant.

Consistency without central bottlenecks. Trusts can maintain a shared quality bar across schools without needing to build and maintain centralised resource banks manually.

Reduced onboarding burden. New or supply teachers can get up to speed on curriculum content quickly, without relying solely on handover documents or informal knowledge-sharing.

Teacher control retained. Chalkie supports teachers rather than replacing their judgement, every resource can be edited, refined, and adapted before use.

SEND and differentiation built in. Rather than requiring separate tools or manual adaptation, differentiated and SEND-appropriate materials are generated as standard.

We work directly with trust leadership to understand curriculum priorities and rollout needs, ensuring implementation fits each trust's existing structures rather than requiring wholesale changes to how schools already operate.

Beyond the product itself, we're committed to supporting the teaching profession more broadly, not just the trusts who use Chalkie.

We run a free teacher community, offering a space for educators to share practice, ask questions, and get support from both peers and our team, regardless of whether their school is a paying customer. We also offer a Chalkie Certification course, helping teachers build confidence and skill in using AI tools responsibly and effectively in their planning, something we see as increasingly essential professional development as AI becomes part of everyday classroom practice.

We take safeguarding seriously across everything we build. This includes ensuring generated content is age-appropriate and suitable for classroom use, maintaining strong data protection practices around pupil and teacher information, and designing the product so that teacher oversight is built in at every stage, meaning nothing reaches pupils without a teacher reviewing and approving it first.

For trusts we work with directly, we provide hands-on onboarding support, working with curriculum leads and senior leadership to understand priorities before rollout, rather than offering a generic, one-size-fits-all implementation. We also listen closely to feedback from trust staff to shape our product roadmap, meaning the features we build are driven by real classroom and school-level needs.

Our goal is for Chalkie to be a genuine partner to trusts, reducing teacher workload while supporting good curriculum practice, safeguarding standards, and professional development across the sector.
