Crick Software has been supporting inclusive education for over 30 years. We design literacy support tools - Clicker for primary and DocsPlus for secondary - that help pupils of all abilities to access writing tasks and develop independence. Our software is widely used in mainstream and specialist settings to support learners with SEND, EAL, and other barriers to literacy.
Our purpose is to remove barriers to learning and give every pupil the tools they need to succeed. We work closely with educators to ensure our products are practical, effective, and aligned with classroom needs. Every feature in Clicker and DocsPlus is designed to support real learners in real schools - from intelligent word prediction and speech feedback to accessible planning tools and curriculum-linked writing grids.
What makes us different is our focus on accessibility and ease of use. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Instead, we provide flexible tools that can be tailored to individual needs, helping schools deliver truly inclusive teaching. Our team includes former teachers and SEND specialists, and we’re proud to offer ongoing support and training to help schools get the most from their subscription.
We’re trusted by thousands of schools across the UK and internationally, including many multi-academy trusts who use Clicker and DocsPlus as part of their inclusive strategy. Whether supporting early writing, building confidence in reluctant writers, or enabling independent exam access, our tools are designed to make a meaningful difference.
We work in partnership with multi-academy trusts to ensure our tools, Clicker and DocsPlus, are embedded in a way that reflects each trust’s specific goals and context. Every trust is different, and our approach reflects that. Our dedicated Partnership Consultants work closely with trust teams to make sure the software is being used effectively and that schools are getting the full value from their subscription.
This includes helping to organise training for any or all staff, supporting schools with exam access arrangements using DocsPlus, and providing guidance on how to integrate the software across a range of subjects and learner profiles. We recognise that a trust’s needs may change over time, and we’re here to help manage that change - whether that’s expanding use, adapting to new priorities, or supporting staff confidence.
As part of a Crick Software subscription, trusts have access to:
Unlimited training for staff, delivered anytime throughout the subscription
Free webinars on practical topics and classroom strategies
Customer care meetings to answer any questions with expert advice
Responsive technical support from our UK-based team
Our goal is to help schools create inclusive learning environments where every pupil can participate and progress. We’re here to support that journey—whether it’s helping a single school get started or working with a trust-wide strategy to support hundreds of learners.
We’re passionate about inclusion and making a real difference in schools. Our software is built with accessibility in mind from the start, so that all pupils - regardless of ability - can use the same tools as their peers.
We regularly share free resources, blogs, and webinars to help schools get the most from assistive technology. We also run CPD Days across the country to support SENCos and Inclusion Leads in using technology to meet the needs of their learners. We are also a recommended partner for the DfE's lending library initiative.
We’re proud to be part of national conversations around inclusion and EdTech. Recent projects include:
Upcoming CPD sessions at Bett 2026 and the TES SEND Show, sharing expertise on a whole-school approach to embedding AT successfully.
Collaborating with the “Portsmouth: The Digital City” initiative, bringing educational equity to the city of Portsmouth and improving writing accessibility and outcomes for its pupils.
Supporting the implementation and writing transformation at The Stour Academy Trust and Learning Pathways Academy Trust.
A webinar with Inclusion Specialist Carol Allen on internal alternative provisions
New resources with SENsible SENCo’s Abigail Hawkins on literacy support and exam access
We believe assistive technology can play a key role in closing the writing gap, supporting pupils with complex needs, and helping schools stretch their resources further. And we’re here to help trusts make that happen.
