What the lead trustee for careers needs to know and do
Successful and rewarding careers are one of the ultimate goals of education, but are we preparing our pupils for the workplace? The Academy trust governance guide states that all boards in trusts that contain a secondary school should appoint a trustee to take on specific strategic oversight of its careers education.
This seminar looks at the Statutory careers guidance for schools 2023 and explores how the careers lead trustee can provide assurance that the trust is:
- Setting a clear vision and strategy around careers education
- Helping to prepare students for the workplace
- Providing high-quality, balanced careers advice
- Meeting the Gatsby benchmarks, as advocated by the DfE guidance
An expert guest speaker will share examples of trusteeship that champions careers education. Seminar leader, Jackie Eason MBE, will provide guidance and advice on how to deliver the role in an impactful, positive manner.
