This CST masterclass will develop your understanding of what safeguarding at trust level
involves, and how to structure, support and oversee it.
The
course shows how a strategic approach to safeguarding will ensure that the
requirements of Keeping Children Safe in Education are met and can be
evidenced across the schools in your trust and gives practical guidance on what
delivering exceptional safeguarding involves.

Seminar 1: Excelling
at Safeguarding Governance: Strong foundations, evidencing compliance,
effective structures
The
first seminar will explore:
- Policies, dissemination and single source of
truth.
- Staff training and updating and evidencing
outcomes.
- The 3Cs of strong safeguarding governance.
- The role of the safeguarding Trustee/governor.
Seminar 2: Safeguarding
systems, data and horizon scanning
The
second seminar will consider:
- The importance of safeguarding software
platforms.
- Pre-emptive safeguarding: using data to
manage responses.
- Looking around: understanding risks in your
communities.
Seminar 3: Managing
complex issues
The
final seminar will cover:
- Learning from child deaths and suicides.
- Bold decision making – complex allegations
against staff.
