See below feedback from participants that have been involved in the Governance Leaders programme
This is a well-structured coherent programme which gave a good insight into the issues involved in effective governance within a Multi Academy Trust.
I really enjoyed the weekend and it was great to meet other Chairs and Directors from such a wide variety of locations, Trust sizes and composition. I’ve got lots of ideas from different colleagues
The course was coherent and well thought out and responsive to the needs of participants and gave a helpful platform for discussion. From the DfE perspective it offers excellent value for money for their investment and if every Chair accessed this course it would improve governance considerably.
The last two days were really informative and helpful, the networking is also a very useful dimension, just hearing how different MATs are doing things, it makes me realise that on a scale our aim of empowered LGBs is being achieved which now need to ensure consistency.
The Governance Leaders programme has given me the tools, support and confidence to effectively engage with our Trustees, Governors, School Trust Leaders and the wider community to strengthen our board and governance and to ensure we future proof our organisation for future generations to come. School Trust governance at all levels needs to be dynamic and adapt to the organisations current and future needs has been a theme of the Governance Leaders programme that I have embraced.
I had a great time and have come away with many great and positive thoughts and reflections from the time spent together with such a fabulous group of people.
The programme has empowered me to help the Trustees to develop a more corporate way of working and to be more strategic, less operational and focused on the core responsibilities.
Some very good sessions over what was a very good couple of days. Certainly worked for me in terms of challenging the grey cells.
I really enjoyed the training, and thanks again to you and the rest of the team.
As someone who’s long term background was ‘I don’t do finance’, the finance model turned me into someone who ‘can do finance’ and now wouldn’t baulk at being involved with finance decisions and committees.
