We work globally to identify outstanding leaders for organisations that are solving the world’s biggest challenges and have extraordinary impact in society. Our role is to connect the most influential and vibrant organisations in our sectors with the highest capacity and most dynamic leaders - based on a common set of values and a shared vision for the future. We are genuinely passionate about our client organisations. Our understanding of each client's values and culture ensures we identify candidates from both traditional and unconventional sources, who can bring fresh thinking and make a real impact. It also enables us to represent our clients candidly and accurately, giving a realistic appraisal of the differentiators, opportunities and challenges that will attract the strongest individuals.

Our Schools and Education Organisations Practice is intentionally broad, and we seek to serve the sector as a whole, utilising our knowledge, expertise and networks to add considerable value in a variety of contexts. Our clients range from leading independent schools to high performing and aspirational academies, new and growing multi-academy trusts to international schools, global schools groups to national and international educational bodies of all types. We established our Practice to respond to some of the challenges in the way the sector has traditionally appointed its leaders. We are intentionally different and we strive to add value in a number of different ways. A commitment to creative, rigorous research, compelling, nuanced advocacy, exceptional process and first-class candidate care are all hallmarks of Perrett Laver's approach.
Perrett Laver's work with both international schools and leading schools across the world is a significant part of our Practice. As a global firm, our clients are based all over the world and we are accustomed to attracting and managing diverse, international candidate fields. In addition to our significant work advising on Head appointments, we also have a strong track record of supporting client schools with appointments to a wide range of other senior leadership posts. We have particular expertise in handling Deputy Head searches and in many cases have supported our clients through significant senior leadership restructures. Alongside our Deputy Head work, we also have a strong track record in advising on the appointment of Bursars and Chief Operating Officers. Our other area of specialism lies in the appointment of Directors of Development for numerous schools.
Our middle leaders programme - Aspire - is a unique offering in the market connecting aspiring middle leaders with outstanding schools. Being able to access a larger and more diverse talent pool to make appointments to Head of Department, Houseparent, and Assistant Head positions will ensure that Schools are able to make more exciting, progressive and diverse appointments of candidates that are currently out of their reach. By investing in the network schools have access to a larger and more diverse talent pool to make appointments. We have specifically targeted teachers in the first instance in ‘hard to recruit departments’ including Science, Computer Science, Modern Languages, Religious Studies, Economics, Psychology and Music but the network supports the full breadth of subject disciplines as well as aspiring pastoral middle leaders. In order to attract the diverse talent we know is out there, the sector requires a different approach to engage the next generation. We believe that the right combination of perspectives, skills, experience and diversity in schools will lead to a stronger education sector.
